The Fare Zones

 The RER, Transilien, and express tramway network is spread into different fare zones. When you ride the RER or Transilien train networks, the cost of your trip depends on how many fare zones you travel across. When you buy a travel pass, you must state which fare zones you want when you buy it. (The more fare zones you want, the more expensive it is.) Important note: Fare zones only matter on the RER, Transilien (suburban train networks) and express tramways. The cost to ride the métro, local tramway, or bus is always the same, regardless on how far you go.
