CDG Airport by Train

How to get from CDG Airport by RER B train

Cost: 10,30

Travel time: 40 minutes

Ticket Price

The ticket price is 10,30 to get from the airport to Paris. Your ticket includes transfers to the métro and other RER lines at no additional cost. To purchase your ticket from a fare vending machine, select "Airport tickets" or "Tickets for Paris" on the screen. You can also use a travel pass with all 5 fare zones:

  • Navigo Day, Weekly, and Monthly passes (fare zones 1-5)
  • Navigo Youth weekend pass (fare zones 1-5)
  • Mobilis ticket (zones 1-5)
  • Paris Visite ticket (zones 1-5)
  • Antipollution pass

Let's Go

The RER B stops at terminals 2 & 3. If you land in terminal 1, take the CDGVAL shuttle train to terminal 3.

Once you are at either terminal 2 or 3 look for signs that have the RER logo or the Paris by train sign like this one.

You will then arrive at the RER station. There are ticket vending machines where you can buy your ticket or travel pass. If using a travel pass, it must include all 5 fare zones. If it doesn't, you'll have to use a regular ticket. (Scroll back up to "Ticket price" to learn more about what ticket or passes are valid.) At the faregates, insert your ticket into the slot, or hold your Navigo card/phone above the purple card reader. Retrieve your ticket from the other slot and the gate will open.

Timetables tell you on what platform and at what time the next train leaves. Trains leaves every 10-20 minutes.

Finishing Your Trip

The RER by makes several stops within Paris where you can transfer to the métro and other RER lines. Your ticket includes free transfers to the métro and other RER lines, but if you want to transfer to the bus or tramway, you will need a t+ ticket in addition to your airport ticket. Travel passes on the other hand offer unlimited rides, so you can transfer to the métro, other RERs, the bus, and the tramway with the same travel pass.

5 Things To Remember On The Métro

5 Things to remember when riding the metro, RER, etc. How frustrating can it be when you get a fine for something you didn't even know about? When most visitors ride for the first time, they get the ticket that seems right to them and hopefully get to their destination. That's until - yeah. They're unable to exit the RER because the ticket they purchased wasn't valid. And later, they get the hefty fine for throwing their paper ticket away earlier. Anyways, here are 5 tips to not end up in a situation like that one. 1. Always keep your ticket with you until you exit the station. Very simple. If a fare inspector comes, just show them your ticket and you're good. And why not keep your paper ticket as a souvenir? In a few years, reloadable plastic cards (Navigo Easy cards) will become mandatory as the single-use paper ticket will become obsolete. 2. T+ tickets (métro tickets) cannot be used on the RER when traveling out of Paris I hear about this mistake all the time.
