To ride the métro (and other modes of public transport like buses) and pay your fare, you need to get a Navigo card or in certain cases, paper tickets are also available. You can also use the mobile app which lets you buy fares ahead of time and load them directly on your phone! Navigo Easy card

  What is it? The Navigo Easy card is an anonymous and reusable smart card. It allows you to store both single tickets (t+ tickets) and day passes. It is recommended for short-term visitors and occasional travelers. What fares can be placed onto a Navigo Easy card? T+ tickets (1,90€ each or 14,90€ for 10 tickets) Navigo Day pass (7,50€ - 17,80€) Navigo Youth weekend pass (4,10€ - 8,95€) Orlybus ticket (8,50€) Roissybus ticket (12€) Antipollution pass (3,80€) How to get it and how much does it cost? Go to an information booth in any métro/RER station. A new blank card costs 2€ and you don't need a picture. How to use it? Tap you Navigo Easy card on the purple (or blue) card reader when entering a station or when boarding a bus or tramway. You'll need to tap again when you transfer to/from the RER or when you exit the RER. You do not need to tap your card to exit the métro. Île-de-France point to point ticket (RER ticket)

The Île de France ticket, also known as RER ticket or origin-destination ticket is good for one trip on the RER/Transilien (suburban train) into the suburbs. Transfers to/from the métro and other RER lines are possible with the same ticket. The cost varies based on how far you go. Can be used on: RER (suburban train) Express tramway T11 Métro Transfers You can transfer between to/from the RER to the métro and other RERs. Transfers marked with a dotted line on the map are possible with the same Île-de-France ticket. (This is different than with t+ tickets .) Prices The cost of your ticket varies based on the distance you travel. A book of 10 tickets costs 8 times as much as buying tickets one at a time, giving you a discount. T+ ticket

The t+ ticket is good for one trip on the bus, tramway, métro, or RER within Paris. Transfers within the bus & tramway network are possible Ideal for:  People who take transit within Paris 5 or less times a day. Can be used on: Bus Local Tramway Métro RER/Transilien within Paris Noctilien night buses Montmartre Funicular Transfers You can transfer within the bus and tramway network within 90 minutes. Roundtrips on the same line are not possible with the same ticket. You can transfer within the rail network within 90 minutes as long as it's marked on the map. Transfers marked with a dotted line are not possible with the same ticket. The Montmartre funicular does not allow any transfers to other modes. Roundtrips on the funicular are not possible as you must exit the funicular station at the end of the ride. Unlimited trips on all modes of transportation within the selected fare zones, except the Orlyval shuttle. This travel pass is valid for one day and expires at midnight. Ideal for:  Occasional riders who will ride transit 6 or more times in a single day. Can be used on: Bus Local Tramway  Métro  RER within selected fare zones Express tramway T11 within selected fare zones  Montmartre Funicular Prices and how to buy:  2 fare zones: 7,50€ 3 fare zones: 10,00€ 4 fare zones: 12,40€ 5 fare zones: 17,80€ Learn more about fare zones The day pass is loaded onto a Navigo Easy card , a Navigo Découverte card , or purchased through the mobile app . If you don't have a card, day tickets (officially called Mobilis tickets) are also available and cost the same as the day pass. To get this fare, go to a fare vending machine or use the mobile app.

Navigo Weekly Pass

Unlimited trips on all modes of transportation within the selected fare zones, except the Orlyval shuttle. Weekly passes are valid for one week and expire on Sunday at midnight. Ideal for:  Long-term visitors and regular riders who ride transit frequently. Can be used on: Bus Local Tramway Métro RER within selected fare zones Express Tramway T11 within selected fare zones Noctilien night buses within selected fare zones Montmartre Funicular Prices and how to buy All fare zones (1 - 5): 22,80€ Zones 2 - 3: 20,85€ Zones 3 - 4: 20,20€ Zones 4 - 5: 19,85€ Learn more about fare zones The weekly pass must be loaded onto a Navigo Découverte card or purchased through the mobile app .
